When the initial jobs report came out, reporting over one hundred thousand Black women were pushed out of the workforce, many were shocked. Although this is unfortunate, I wasn’t surprised. For the most part, Black women have been treated like second-class citizens while working in corporate.

Our brilliance was welcome in these corporations. Many of us were integral to these corporations, generating millions, sometimes billions of dollars.
New data shows that now over six hundred thousand Black women have been removed from the workforce. Although the intent was to harm us, these corporations have redirected many to begin living life on their terms.
Redirections happen that way; sometimes, we find ourselves on a new path without notice. If you are a Black woman who has lost employment or is preparing for your exit, I highly recommend attending the 2026 Job Liberation Summit for Black Women.

This 3-day virtual gathering brings together 20+ Black women experts sharing strategies
on:
- Building income outside traditional employment
